The state of Alaska offers a variety of fishing spots which include rivers, lakes, streams and surrounding seas. In addition to major lakes, Alaska has over 3 million lakes that are more than 20 acres in size. Alaskan lakes usually contain salmon, sockeye, dolly varden, artic char, rainbow trout, grayling, northern pike and burbot. Major Alaskan rivers such as the Yukon River,the Kuskokwim River, the Collville River and the Copper River are also known spots for freshwater fishing.
